Dr Arevik Gazarjan – GP & ADHD Management Clinician
MBBS, FRACGP, DCH, NCRSH
Dr Arevik completed her training in Medicine (Estonia) and General Practice (Finland) prior to moving to Australia. Since then, she has practiced extensively for around 15 years in both rural and metropolitan settings, gaining a broad perspective on the healthcare needs of diverse communities.
Dr Arevik has a strong commitment to postgraduate education, having completed a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) through Westmead Children’s Hospital, a National Certificate in Family Planning, and an Advanced Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine. Additionally, she has undertaken further upskilling and special-interest training in the assessment and management of ADHD and its related conditions.
She advocates for a holistic approach to medicine, focusing on evidence-based care and the importance of long-term patient-doctor relationships. Her clinical practice is centred on listening closely to her patients to provide comprehensive management tailored to their individual needs and circumstances.
Outside of the clinic, Dr Arevik practices and teaches yoga, is an avid reader, and enjoys spending time with her children.
ADHD Management & Consultations
In addition to providing a broad range of General Practice care, Dr Arevik offers dedicated ADHD consultations for patients with an established diagnosis. These sessions are designed to provide comprehensive, ongoing support and clinical oversight.
During an ADHD consultation, Dr Arevik focuses on:
- Reviewing current symptoms and monitoring medication response.
- Assessing side effects and discussing integrated lifestyle strategies.
- Addressing related factors such as sleep, anxiety, and hormonal influences.
- Reviewing associated conditions and establishing a long-term support plan.
Please note that in accordance with NSW regulatory requirements, General Practitioners are not currently authorised to provide an initial ADHD diagnosis or initiate stimulant medication.
However, Dr Arevik is qualified to review established psychostimulant treatments, adjust dosages within the same medication class, re-prescribe existing stimulant medications and initiate and prescribe non-stimulant ADHD medications. Should a transition to a different stimulant class be required to manage symptoms, she will determine if a further specialist psychiatric review is necessary.
