Dr Mendis graduated from the University of Adelaide before moving to Sydney where she completed her internship and residency years at Westmead, Blacktown Nepean and Fairfield hospitals.

She completed speciality training in family medicine and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has been working as a general practitioner in the Hills District for almost 25 years.

In addition to chronic health care and preventative health checks, her special interests include family medicine, women’s health, paediatrics, mental health and weight management. She is passionate about motivating patients to understand that making positive small changes can result in big differences to their physical and mental wellbeing.

When not working Sharmini enjoys reading, going for walks, playing the piano and catching up with her friends and most of all spending time with her husband and two children.

Please note that ALL patients booked for an in-person or telephone consultation with Dr Sharmini Mendis will incur an out-of-pocket fee (including children, Health Care and Pension Card holders).

As Dr Mendis is generally booked 1-2 weeks ahead of time, to avoid disappointment, please ensure you have booked your next follow-up appointment on the day of your consultation.
