Immunisations
Immunisation (also known as vaccinations) is a simple, safe and effective way of protecting individuals against harmful diseases before they come into contact with them. Immunisation doesn’t just protect people, but also others in the community, by stopping the spread of preventable infections and illness.Up until the 1950s, thousands of Aussie kids died each year from infectious diseases such as smallpox, diphtheria, polio and measles. Immunisation programs have controlled and, in some cases, wiped out these diseases in Australia.
Menopause & Perimenopause
Menopause is a natural biological transition that occurs when the ovaries stop producing estrogen. This leads to the cessation of ovulation and, eventually, menstruation.
Ultrasound Imaging
Dural Family Medical Practice is pleased to now offer Bulk-Billed Ultrasound Imaging Services every Thursday afternoon.
Ultrasounds will be performed by an experienced and fully-accredited sonographer in partnership with View Medical Imaging.
Ultrasound Imaging can be performed for:
- Musculoskeletal ultrasound eg, shoulder ultrasound, hip ultrasound, knee ultrasound
- Abdominal and Kidney/Bladder ultrasounds
- Thyroid and neck ultrasounds
- Vascular ultrasound including arterial and venous doppler ultrasounds
- Lumps and growths eg, lipomas, cysts, foreign bodies, ganglions, tendinopathies.
At this stage, breast sonography, obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound is not available at the practice. Radiologist scan reports will be made available to your GP after around 48 hours.
All external GP and Specialist ultrasound request referrals are welcome. Ultrasound Scan appointments must be made by calling our Medical Centre in Dural on 9651 2077.
