You can book a phone or video consultation online — simply select Phone or Video consultation as your “appointment type”. For video consultations, you will require a phone with front-facing camera, and mobile internet connection.

When booked for a video consultation, you will receive an SMS message around 5 minutes prior to your appointment time, with a link to join a virtual waiting room. Your GP will know that you are waiting and will join the video link when he/she is available (please be patient in case your GP is running late).

Phone and Video Consultations are availableonly to patients who have attended the practice in-person in the previous 12 months.

The exception to this rule is for children under the age of 12 months, or if you are registered to MyMedicare at our practice (this applies from 1 November 2025 only).

ALL phone and video consultations incur gap fees and attract the same private fee arrangement as in-person appointments. Phone consultations under 6 minutes for simple requests (e.g., prescription request or referral letter) will incur a $40 gap fee.

Please note that for medicolegal reasons, doctors cannot perform any telephone or telehealth consultations when a patient is overseas.

Processing Payment for Your Phone Consultation – From 29 October 2025

Please note that when booking a Telephone or Telehealth (video) Consultation, you will now need to pre-enter your credit card details. Patients eligible to be bulk-billed will still be bulk-billed for their consultation.

Why do I need to enter my credit card details?

To make the billing process as smooth and efficient as possible, we now use a secure online system to handle payments. When you book your Phone Consultation, you will be asked to enter your credit card details at the time of booking. This is a standard procedure that allows us to process the payment automatically after your consultation has been completed (you will no longer need to be transferred back to reception for payment over the phone).

Please be assured that your card details will be stored securely. We use a trusted third-party payment gateway that is fully compliant with industry standards, and your card details are not stored on our practice’s server.

A Special Note for Pensioners, Concession Card Holders and Children (under 16) booking with Dr Kevin Aung, Dr Kalpana Loganath, Dr Lakmini Gunaratne or Dr Udara Gunawardane:

For Pension or Concession Card Holders or Children under 16 booking a Telephone Consultation with the above doctors, you will still be asked to enter your credit card details at the time of booking.

Please be assured, however, that you will not be charged for this consultation and will still be bulk-billed. The system requires the card details for the booking process, but our staff will manually adjust the billing so that no fee is debited from your card.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact our reception team.
