Privacy Policy

Confidentiality of patient information is a fundamental component of the health care system. It is necessary for the practice to collect personal information from patients to attend to their healthcare needs and for associated administrative purposes. Care will be taken that all information held by the practice is secure and accurate. Unless we have your expressed written consent, staff will only disclose information to healthcare workers involved in your treatment. Patients may request access to their personal health information by completing a Request to Access Patient Information Form.

Patient Feedback/Complaints

We value feedback from our patients. Please feel free to talk to our doctors, nurses or administrative staff with your concerns, complaints or suggestions. You may also prefer to write to us or use our suggestion box at reception.

Alternatively if you wish to take the matter further, you may contact the Health Care Complaints Commission on Phone: 1800 043 159.

 

Repeat prescriptions and referrals

A consultation is usually required for repeat prescriptions and referrals, which ensures optimal patient care and satisfies the doctors' medicolegal obligations. Please note that in most instances a repeat prescription or referral will not be supplied unless you have attended the clinic within the last 3 months.

Receiving your results

For privacy reasons, results will not be given over the phone. You are required to book an appointment with the doctor to get your results.

Reminder System

Our practice is committed to preventative care. We use a reminder and recalls system. If you do not wish to be on this system, please let us know.

Interpreter Service

If you need an interpreter service, please inform our receptionist.

After Hours

If you need a doctor after the surgery hours, please call National Home Doctors Service on Phone 137425 or go to your nearest hospital.

Home Visits

Home visits are only available at the discretion of the doctor and also in regards to what is considered ‘safe and reasonable’. Please note that there will be an out of pocket cost.

Communications Policy

We prefer communication by phone. You may contact the practice manager for administrative matters. If you wish to speak to a doctor, a message will be taken and a doctor or nurse will return your call.
