Philip graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Sydney in 1988.
He worked in Royal Canberra Hospital, Westmead Hospital and The Children Hospital in his training years where he pursued a wide variety of experience in different areas, including Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Neurology, Thoracic Medicine, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Neurosurgery. He also worked in Emergency Medicine in each of the hospitals he worked, as well as an anaesthetic rotation in Westmead Hospital.
After the hospital training, he worked in the Hunter Valley and Central Coast area for 2 years in general practice as part of his training. He obtained the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practice in the early 90s, and later served as the College’s examiner for 2 years.
Dr Lam has been a general practitioner in the Hills District for more than 25 years and it is very satisfying to be many families’ medical adviser. His interests include paediatrics, diabetics and thyroid diseases, and minor surgical procedures.
Dr Lam has 3 children who are now in university education. He has passionate interest in
photography and taking up golf for sport.
